What counts as a document?

A document counts once, when everyone has finished signing it. Drafts, documents still out for signature, and anything voided, declined or expired never count. Resending or reminding does not count again, and the number of signers makes no difference — a six-signer operating agreement is one document.

Why our prices are low, and what that costs

We run deliberately lean. We do not staff a large support organisation, a 24-hour call centre, or a retention team — and handling refunds is itself a staffed activity that everyone's price would have to cover.

So charges are final and we do not offer refunds. What you get instead: cancel any time effective at period end, keep everything you have already paid for, and never have a signed document withheld over a billing dispute. The full clause is in section 3 of our Terms of Service.

Where we stand on compliance

We built SMP eSign against recognised security frameworks from the start. Encryption in transit and at rest, multi-factor authentication, tenant isolation, an immutable audit trail, no standing vendor access to customer documents, and logged emergency access are all in the product today.

What we do not have: a SOC 2 report, a HIPAA attestation, or any third-party audit. We have not been assessed by anyone. Formal certification is on our roadmap and we will say so here when it changes.
