SMP eSign is built with the technical safeguards described in the HIPAA Security
Rule, the GLBA Safeguards Rule, and comparable frameworks in mind. We do not
currently hold any compliance certification or attestation, and we do not offer
business associate agreements at this time. Pursuing formal certification is on
our roadmap.
You are responsible for determining whether SMP eSign is appropriate for the
documents you send. Do not use SMP eSign for documents containing protected
health information, nonpublic personal financial information, or privileged
client material until we announce support for those uses.
